David A. Daglio, Jr., CFA®

David Daglio is a recognized investor, public company director, and former chief investment officer with more than 30 years of experience navigating public and private markets. He of a new think tank and educational platform committed to improving how capital is allocated by fostering transparency, behavioral integrity, and better investment decision-making. Transparent Decisions is built on the idea that markets are more efficient and outcomes more just when the investment process itself is visible, accountable, and grounded in aligned incentives.

David recently served as Chief Investment Officer and Global Investment Strategist at TwinFocus and now serves as an advisor to critical investment decisions at the firm, a leading multi-family office advising some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurial families. He directs macroeconomic strategy, risk frameworks, and private market investments. In 2023, TwinFocus acquired BC‑GUMPS, a tactical investment firm David founded to deliver customized solutions to family offices with complex needs.

From 1998 to 2020, David was a career investor at The Boston Company Asset Management, where he built and led the Opportunistic Value Team, launching a suite of successful active strategies ranging from U.S. small-cap and mid-cap to global equities and hedge funds. The team’s strategies drove the majority of the firm’s profitability, and its AUM grew more than fivefold under his leadership.

In 2018, David became Chief Investment Officer of Mellon, where he oversaw the integration of Mellon Capital, The Boston Company, and Standish into a unified $500 billion asset manager, the 7th largest in the world. He chaired Mellon’s Global Insight Team, a cross-disciplinary group of more than 150 investors who collaborated across macroeconomic, quantitative, thematic, and fundamental perspectives to inform firm-wide portfolio construction and risk assessment.

Beyond public markets, David is an active private investor, with ownership stakes in solar farms, early-stage startups, and PEX, a high-performance Boston-based gym where he serves as Chairman. His investment approach considers three attributes: "price matters most," "incentives dictate behavior," and "pounce when the opportunity opens.
